Visiting a Patient at Middlesex Hospital

A COVID-19 Message for Visitors

Inpatients, surgery patients and Emergency Department patients at Middlesex Hospital are now allowed one visitor at a time. However, there are still guidelines all visitors must follow, and our outpatient locations remain closed to visitors at this time. Please see our full policy for additional information.

We understand the important role that support from family, loved ones, and friends play in the recovery process. Visitors are encouraged to visit patients between the hours of 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and are limited to two (2) at a time. As our first objective is to ensure the best possible care for our patients, decisions concerning visitors will be jointly made by the patient’s caregiver and by the patient.

To locate a patient at Middlesex Hospital, call the Information Desk at 860-358-6720.

Pregnancy & Birth Center

We encourage families and friends to respect the new mother’s need for rest and privacy by keeping visitations brief. Visitation is based on ”mom’s choice“ and is encouraged between the hours of 800 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. No visitors are allowed between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Please note that visitors must obtain a visiting pass from the front desk to gain entry into the Pregnancy and Birth Center.

Other Departments

There are also special situations for the CCU/IMCU and the Psychiatric Unit. Please call ahead or speak to your caregiver for the visitation policy on these units.
